The University of Modena and Reggio Emilia promotes the internationalisation of its PhD programmes through cooperation agreements with other universities. Many of these agreements provide for faculty exchanges and PhD student mobility.
The PhD Programme benefits from a strong and highly qualified international presence within its Academic Board, with faculty members and researchers from foreign universities and research centres, as well as from the involvement of visiting professors, who enrich the programme’s teaching and seminar activities each year.
PhD students are encouraged to undertake periods of study and research at foreign universities or research institutions, also through dedicated funding opportunities, including: an additional 10% budget for research activities (available from the first year of the PhD Programme pursuant to Ministerial Decree No. 226/2021); a 50% increase in the PhD scholarship for periods of mobility abroad (Ministerial Decree No. 247/2022, Article 2); the Erasmus+ Study Mobility programme; the Erasmus+ Traineeship programme; and additional financial resources to support international mobility provided by the Marco Biagi Department of Economics.
