Since 2020, a cotutelle agreement has been in place with Universidad Pablo de Olavide (UPO) in Seville, aimed at promoting high-level international joint research activities. The programme involves joint supervision by two academics with expertise in the relevant field, one at Unimore and the other at UPO.
Upon completion of the programme, a degree recognised in both countries is awarded.

In 2020, the LSI PhD Programme entered into a cotutelle agreement with Universidad Pablo de Olavide in Spain.
The agreement aims to facilitate the effective coordination of high-level international research activities through research jointly supervised by two academics with expertise in the relevant field, one at Unimore and the other at UPO.
First-year PhD students may apply and, subject to authorisation by the PhD Academic Board, second-year PhD students may also be eligible to apply.
Upon completion of the programme, a degree recognised by both countries is awarded.
