Abstract

This seminar session will be divided into two main aspects. The first part explores more generally how we identify relevant research questions in marketing research. To do so, what meaningful research is will be discussed, inviting the students to reflect on their idea development processes.

The second part introduces students to a deeper view of social media research. Students will consequently discuss the main building blocks in the research area and the different contexts social media research addresses. Finally, we will discuss new emerging themes and potential evolutions in social media research, focusing specifically on some of the presenter’s work on topics such as the visual impact and engagement in social media and the phenomenon of virtual influencers.
